You must consult with a properly licensed engineer before duplicating any of the modifications described within this atricle. This article descibes a change to my aeroplane that I found to resolve a problem with guidance and checking from an LAA engineer.
The Maverick came with a simple experimental fuel valve. I replaced it with a quality Andair one
An aluminium plate to support the valve was placed between the seats. It has three spacers for the attachment screws.
My plane has two wing tanks and no header tank. The LAA engineer said that as there is no header tank to always leave 20 litres of reserve fuel in the tank.
This avoids the fuel intake pipe being dry at certain attitudes.
